What should I bring?
You will need a yoga mat, large bath towel and a water for after class. We sell or rent all of these at the studio.
What should I wear?
Come dressed to sweat! Men usually where bathing suit shorts or Speedos and women usually where exercise tank tops or sports bras and shorts.
What should I eat or drink before class?
Come to class on an empty stomach, about 2-4 hours after your last meal. If you are practicing in the morning, most people benefit from a small, easy-to-digest snack like fruit or juice.
I am not flexible and I have no balance, can I do this?
Yes. Yoga is not about being flexible or having great balance. Yoga, when practiced regularly, allows you to increase your quality of life. Bikram yoga is designed so that all you have to do is try the right way to get the physical and mental health benefits. Any one can do it!
Why is the room hot?
The room is hot to keep your body from overheating, protect muscles to allow for deeper stretching, detoxify the body by opening pores and allowing toxins out, thin the blood to clear the circulatory system, increase the heart rate for a better cardiovascular workout, improve strength by putting the muscle tissue in an optimal state for reorganization, and reorganize fat in the muscular structure. The heat also helps to focus your mind.
Should I get in shape before I come?
No! This is the best way to get in shape. Just come in, do your best and try a little bit of the posture the right way and watch your body change!
